Sienna Miller goes tropical

by

G. I. Joe: The Rise Of Cobra South Korea Press Conference

And I am not sure if it’s a good or a bad one.

Attending the press conference for “G. I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra” in South Korea, Sienna Miller opted a tropical print Diane von Furstenberg Resort 2010 tunic dress matched with thick tights and black suede lace-up boots.

After some time of being quite predictable and dowdy, it’s actually refreshing to see the actress in this relatively new look. I actually love the frock’s tropical print that seems to bring a smile in your face; pairing it with those tights and boots was also a wise choice too considering the weather in the country (if this was worn in the US, it would’ve been so out for the summer). What I am not so sure about is the frock’s shoulders that are too bulgy one would think Sienna’s up for a football game.

Lily Allen Chanel Bags Fall 2009 Campaign finally out

This got us all waiting for a year, and now it’s finally here!

Lily Allen’s photos for Chanel’s Fall/Winter 2009/2010 handbags collection campaign finally surfaced showcasing the singer in playful images of an Audrey Hepburn-esque – her hair in a bouffant updo with diamond tiara and ruffled collar. I guess the combination of Karl Lagerfeld’s edgy couture and Lily’s girly pop-star style is one fashion dream come true!

The handbag line which is to be launched this October is a collection “of reversible, lightweight nylon and lambskin bags in black, ecru, navy, or beige. Turn them inside out, and you’ve got the same tote, overnight duffel, or hanging garment bag in quilted garnet—the original lining colour of the house’s classic 2.55 bag.”

Well as much as I like these photos of Lily – very fun and very chic – I don’t think if I feel the same for the bags. I don’t know, but there’s a part of me that tells me they’re ugly.

Ashley Greene nails it

Arrivals at the Julie and Julia special screening

After going bold in colors at the Comic-Con 2009, Ashley Greene goes daring this time showing off some sexy cleavage and hot legs.

Attending the “Julie and Julia” special screening, the Twilight babe donned on a Brian Reyes sleeveless double stitch dress matched with a pair of Jimmy Choo Verity sandals.

I am not really a huge fan of exposed zippers, but this one here featured it in a way that it’s edgy and classy. Besides, when it hugs Ashley’s figure this way – like it spells H-O-T – who are we to argue?

Undoubtedly, this look is much, much better than her Comic Con style. Although the latter took my attention with its color, this one hit it for its presence.

Amy Adams tries to pull off a white

by

Julie & Julia Los Angeles Premiere

I’ve always seemed to be a sucker over white frocks; their classy, their chic, and just hard to miss. However, I guess there are just some white frocks that are quite hard to pull off.

Take for example this white RM by Roland Mouret Aphrodite dress actress Amy Adams wore at the “Julie & Julia” Los Angles premiere.

Paired with nude suede shoes, the look would’ve been a hit if only the bodice would appear to fit Amy well. Of course this can also be due posture or what, but the point is, it really didn’t seem to look great on her.

And yeah, with this kind of style, white may not be its best shade (especially when it’s hit by light). Something darker may be.

Oh well, bottom line here is that I expected something better than this from Amy.

Rihanna: The Fashion Daredevil

by

Rihanna

UK Film Premiere of Inglorious Basterds

You ever heard of that saying that there is a thin line between love and hate? I guess I have that same feeling with Rihanna.

You know I always seem to have this tendency to raise my brows seeing the singer’s looks; they’re weird and so totally out of my taste. However, behind that distaste over Rihanna’s fashion I often find myself envying the singer for the kind of guts she has daring to be different and bold.

Take a look at this look she had at the premiere of “Inglorious Basterds” last Thursday.

Other times this Alexander McQueen jumpsuit would look conventional on other stars; stunning still but conventional nonetheless. But adding a touch of the 80’s with those classic pearls, cat-eyed black eye liner, and bright red lipstick, Rihanna sure proved that conventional is so out of her dictionary. And need we talk about those Mohawk? Tell me, who in Hollywood would be brave enough to get this Mohawk, and much more be able to pull it off the way Rihanna did here?

What I so don’t like in this look? – The lace fingerless gloves that seem quite odd here. But then again, if you are Rihanna, odd is a flattery.

Certainly, the singer was more like going to a runway than being a mere movie going.

Seeing Rihanna this fierce, I would not wonder if Chris Brown’s eating his heart out already. His loss can be anybody’s gain now, right? Serves him right though.

Well I guess it’s just true that you tend to dislike somebody that has something you want to have or want to be. My feelings for Rihanna exactly.

Ashley Greene needs to consult with her Alice Cullen character

by

Summit Entertainment At Comic-Con

Aside from Bella and Edward (which actually is an obvious), Alice Cullen is one of my favorite characters in Twilight saga.

Other than having a cool power to see the future, what makes Alice so interesting for me is her high-edge taste for fashion. Why Alice is one fashion guru in the book! And so it disappointments me a bit to see the star playing Alice’s character looking a bit too off the fashion expert personality of the latter.

Gracing Summit Entertainment at Comic-Con 2009 Ashley Greene went bold and daring with colors wearing a bright fuschia pink Alice + Olivia dress paired with Jimmy Choo Verity sandals. The look was okay, fine, not ugly but the problem is I don’t think it’s flattering enough on Ashley that would make anyone who sees it say “wow!”.

Tsk, tsk, if only Ashley Greene can get some fashion tips from Alice Cullen, huh?

Scarlett Johansson shows curves at Comic Con

by

Comic-Con 2009 - Day 3 - Iron Man 2 Panel Discussion

Compared to other Hollywood celebrities of her age, Scarlett Johansson is one of those stars who we so rarely see in the limelight when there’s just no reason to be.

And since Comic-Con 2009 is one good reason to get ScarJo in the eyes of the cameras and public, we sure are not missing this chance to get the sexy actress here in Celebrity Fashion Watch.

Attending the “Iron Man 2” panel discussion during the convention, ScarJo was knock-out beautiful wearing a cream Dolce & Gabbana shift dress accented with a black YSL belt paired with Christian Louboutin peep-toes.

Well okay, the frock was not that super glamorous and all, but hey, clothes don’t make you, they compliment you, right? And so if only for that matter, we can actually forego the fact that this look is a bit too dull and boring for someone as stunning as Scarlett Johansson.

Cat Deeley’s looks for the week

by

Aside from her striking beauty and charisma, So You Think You Can Dance host, Cat Deeley has also been known for her drop-dead gorgeous looks and styles every week of the show. This week, InStyle covered the two different looks Cat had for the show so let’s go check those all out.

Wednesday

july-22

Just a day away for the show’s 100th episode – which will showcase a performance of SYTYCD fan, Katie Holmes – Cat was just breathtaking wearing a gold halter dress by Yigal Azrouel, vintage bracelets and Gucci spikes.

I wasn’t really used to raving over halter frocks as I sometimes think they’re quite hard to pull off but Cat here nailed it effortlessly. Pulling her hair up was also a wise choice to further showcase her beautiful neck and collar bones. And if you think metallics are so out this season, well I guess Cat showed you here that it still rocks on stage.

Thursday

july-23

With the much anticipated 100th episode of the show and the much talked about performance of Katie Holmes, Cat went wild on her style clad in a sequined dress emblazoned with an image of a leopard. Completing the look with a pair of gold gladiator heels and sexy big curls for her ‘do, the host sure was a sight!

Sequined frocks have never been my cup of tea yet this one has that wow factor one would love to see again and again. And those gladiators? – They rock!

Wow! Cat sure is one interesting host to see in our televisions.

Paris Hilton wears scales

Paris, Not France Special Screening

Oh, those aren’t scales? I’m sorry I know Paris Hilton would not wear something as crazy as scales in a special event like the special screening of her documentary film, Paris, Not France, but seeing her in this photo, I actually was not able to think the event was the launching of her latest perfume, Siren (where she portrays as a mermaid).

Okay, the Roberto Cavalli Resort 2009 dress was not really that bad, but I guess matching it with that Le Silla shoes and those diamond bracelet and diamond earrings made this look uber sparkly it was just so hard to look at Paris without squinting.

Fortunately (like really thankfully!), Paris Hilton managed to leave those sparkling headbands that she currently fancies to wear or she would end up blinding the papz literally.

Vanna Bonta Ethereal in Chiffon

Vanna Bonta looked like an angel in ethereal silk chiffon at the 40th anniversary Apollo 11 moon mission celebration on July 20. The black tie celebration hosted by NASA and Space Frontier also honored The Universe series with an award, the show where Vanna flew in zero gravity to test her invention, the 2suit. The show’s producers attended to accept the honor, one of them wearing the official 2Suit mission patch on a space age silver trussed tux.

vanna_bonta-ns-28-640x480

Vanna’s personal stylist traveled there to braid her hair with pearls to match her pearl shoes. What do you think of Vanna’s accessories? the rocket purse, an Apollo 11 charm bracelet and dreamy exclusive moon era dress. It’s a Jean Louis vintage original. The designer dressed Billie Holiday, Marilyn Monroe (the dress she sang “Happy Birthday Mr. President” in), Judy Garland, Doris Day, Irene Dunne, Shirley MacLaine…and the list goes on. It was learned the dress was a special gift from an undisclosed friend…who it was designed for, and worn once before.

Vanna also spoke and read an original poem for the event. Poetry may not be that popular in the US but her childhood poetry books sell for hundreds of dollars (check it out), and signed Bonta novels have gone for triple that and more. If that’s any gauge of what some people consider hot out there…she’s still with us… and an autographed copy of the Inventors Digest that featured Vanna brought in the most bids at a raffle for the cosmic evening.

An insider revealed that Vanna’s team and everyone close to her love working with her so much they’d travel to the moon with her.

Kelly Rowland is so into pink

Everybody loves pink. Whether they’re bright, vibrant, or girly, this shade would seem to always have a space in a woman’s wardrobe.

And so are we still surprised to see Kelly Rowland pulling of a pink frock for an event?

Hosting at Tao Night Club inside the Venetian Resort Hotel and Casino, the former Destiny’s Child singer sported on a sexy short jumpsuit in bright pink. My thoughts? - Casual but wow!

Really, we know pink has this tendency to exude so much of that girly aura but this one is something we super love for its comfortable and confident feel. The hair, the accessories, and yes, the smile, shows that Kelly is indeed feeling her best with this frock.

Now this is something I, too would love to wear for my own.

Funny People Los Angeles Premiere: The Looks

by

While Adam Sandler is the star in the 2009 comedy-drama film, Funny People, for its Los Angeles premiere, it is actually the women attendees that took most of the red carpet’s limelight. Let’s go check out the looks of film’s premiere last night.

Funny People Los Angeles Premiere

Okay, I know I just said stars who took the limelight in the red carpet but I guess Anna Farris’s isn’t exactly that. Not-so-stellar in the event with her white minidress, Anna kept her look simple as she attends the film’s premiere.

Funny People Los Angeles Premiere

Talk about stellar look, Leslie Mann definitely was a big hit at last night’s event with her vibrant fuchsia tube-top frock with matching clutch and shoes. Oh lovely, just lovely!

Funny People Los Angeles Premiere

I actually do not have any issue with Elizabeth Banks’s little black dress accented at the shoulder, I, however, have some concern with her hair and makeup. Really, what’s with the messy hair and make-up that do not seem to match with the frock?

Funny People Los Angeles Premiere

Sexy in pink? Well that’s her! Jackie Johnson sure was one head-turner at the Funny People Los Angeles premiere with her oh-lala pink mini.

Funny People Los Angeles Premiere

Tubes seem to be a cliché, not to mention a safe choice, in the red carpets, so do we still wonder why Aubrey Plaza is with a yet-another sexy tube mini dress?

Funny People Los Angeles Premiere

Going on unconventional, Rashida Jones tops a striped bandage skirt and tank with a cutaway jacket and a chain necklace. Now this is fierce!

So, who do you think has got the best look here? I say it’s Leslie Mann for the glamour award and Rashida Jones for the you-rock award.

How Jennifer Lopez took my breath away

by

Jennifer Lopez in New York City

Want to hear a secret? – I’m actually not a fan of Jennifer Lopez.

However, when I saw her here in this flowing white Enza Costaskirt matched with Dsquared sunglasses and a luxe Adriana Castro purse, I couldn’t help but be captivated.

Really, I super love the look!

You see I seem to have gotten used to seeing JLo in sexy – tight-fitting, body-hugging, plunging neckline – outfits so seeing her looking casual, but not really casual, is an innovation for me. The skirt in particular is one magic for me; it’s just ethereal and oh-so lovely!

Sigh, I wish I can wear this kind of skirts. But unfortunately, this kind of look seems to require a minimum height and physique to be able to work its magic. Too bad for me I don’t think I meet those requirements.

Sienna Miller is laid back… just too laid back for a press conference

by

G.I. Joe The Rise Of The Cobra press conference, Sydney, Australia

No doubt of Sienna Miller’s innate glamour and sophistication. She has it, whether on the streets or in the red carpet. However, must she really not show some effort anymore because of that?

Clad in an Axl print dress from the Poltock & Walsh Fall 2009 collection paired with a suede/leather Chloé Fall 2009 camel lace-up ankle boots, the American-born British actress, model, and fashion designer attended the press conference of her latest movie, “G.I. Joe The Rise Of The Cobra.”

Well okay, the dress was cute and comfortable in the eye, but don’t you think the look was just way too laid back for a press conference? I’m not saying it’s a ugly or what because it really is not. However, my concern is the appropriateness of the look. Of course I do not expect Sienna to be wearing those blings and glittering gowns, but maybe, a little bit more to this.

Katherine Heigl’s too much’a tulle and necklace

by

Ugly Truth Premiere

Ugly Truth Premiere

We all love Katherine Heigl’s irresistible smile and charm. Sometimes she just gives those out and she’ll melt everybody’s hearts out. That’s is no wonder why sometimes it’s quite hard to give her a fashion miss when she’s looking like this.

Attending the premiere of her latest flick, The Ugly Truth, the actress gets glam wearing a beige tulle Lanvin dress with her Joan Hornig and David Yurman pearls. I actually would have totally adored the look if only Katherine has downplayed on either the tulle or the pearls. Honestly the accessories and frock are totally competing for my attention; I do not know which to pay more attention.

Really, the pearls are fabulous and the frock is glamorous. However, worn together they just seem to compete with each other instead of complimenting each other.

Good thing Katherine knows how to pull it off with that smile and charm…
