2008 MTV Video Music Awards Looks: Who Hit; Who Missed?!

by Rechelle Tolinero

We’ve seen the looks that hit and missed during the Conde Nast Media Group’s 5th Anniversary of Fashion Rocks. While the party’s over for the media group, the party has just begun for the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards.

Held at the Paramount Pictures Studios in California tonight (September 7), let’s check out whose looks captivated the audience and whose didn’t.

To kick-off this list, here’s Ashlee Simpson showing off her ballooning belly via an Alexander McQueen gown. For a glowing first time mom, this look is definitely a hit!

When you are young, famous, and rich, who would stop you to flaunt how your life is in glitters, literally? Take a look at High Musical 3 star, Ashley Tisdale. In a silver sparkling dress, who would doubt she’s living in a limelight?

Next on the list is The Hills vixen, Audrina Partridge who was vavavoom in a glittery cocktail dress. Compared to Lauren, I think Audrina’s looks better in this kind of frock.

Has Storm (X-Men) been mutated and turned into some drag queen? If not, what is this statement Christina Aguilera trying to picture with her look? Is Christina really doing this overly done look on purpose? If so, please tell her to stop! Being a modern Cher sure is not for Christina, besides, I kind of hate Cher’s kind of fashion statements.

While Audrina opted to show off her hotness, her co-star, Heidi Montag, to be more on the preppy side with her black sweater-like, shoulder-baring dress.

More to come on my next post……..
