A year ago, Celebrity Fashion Watch went into retrospection to go back in year 2007 and recap the best and the worst there had been in celebrity fashion for that year. This time around, I thought of adding some spice in our yearend report by running the very first CFW Fashion Awards.
With this, five categories have been run, The Vavavoom Mom, White is Right, Best Red Carpet Look, Fashionista of the Year, and the Man in Fashion.
The winners for the respective categories are determined through polls from http://www.micropoll.com/ and were run for more than a month. And now, the voting is over; it’s time to dish in the winners for the various categories.
In a traditional society, fashion has always been a word associated only for women. However, as time passed by, the whole world seemed to have already embraced fashion for both men and women. In fact, looking good and dressing up seems to be a must for the males already specially if you are in the entertainment industry like Hollywood.
With this regard, I thought it would be quite unfair if our categories for the 1st CFW Fashion Countdown would only feature women at their best (and worst) in fashion.
And so, for our next category, we bring you the men who’ve showcased their best in dressing up and styling department.
It is also important to note that our three nominees came from three different ‘genres;’ one a Hollywood veteran, the other a great athlete and sports personality, and one who is a matinee idol.
So are you ready to meet our nominees for the Man in Fashion award?
First on the list is of course Brad Pitt. With that look that every woman in this world went crazy of, and a body that men would die for, one would think Brad need not have a good fashion sense.
While that would relatively be true, Brad proves that dressing up and looking good is a must for him; but sometimes, that just come effortlessly. After all he is Brad Pitt.
Need we say more why he is on the list? – From head-to-toe everything in David just shouts high end fashion!
I guess it’s safe to say, Dave is an epitome of a ‘posh’ man.
Zac Efron
He may be out of the league of the first two nominees when it comes to ‘name’ and experience, but when it comes to dressing up; the High Musical 3 star certainly has it.
Now that the nominees have been unmasked, it’s your time to decide which of three got it. Vote now!
She gave birth to a beautiful bouncing baby girl, which in effect gave her that improved curves in her body. Thus, she can now wear anything without being suspected for having eating disorders.
In fact, since giving birth, more and more people have noticed better and edgier fashion statements.
Just like what she had at the 30th Anniversary Carousel of Hope Ball at The Beverly Hilton Hotel last Saturday (October 25).
Clad in a sequined Reem Acra gown with plunging neckline and elegant train, Nicole was magnificently beautiful at the event. She’s just oh-so dynamite!
This is what I really call as high glamour. I love how the gown perfectly complimented her skin tone. And despite being heavily embellished, it still didn’t overpower Nic.
‘Guess this is by far the best and hottest look I’ve seen in Nicole.
If you think Nicole’s really got it in the fashion department, vote for her in the very first Celebrity Fashion Watch Fashion Countdown, Fashionista of the Year and Vavavoom Mom categories, respectively.
In Hollywood, looking good is a must. But to stand out and be remembered, it is not enough that you just look good, you have to be different!
And so for this matter, our next category for Celebrity Fashion Watch’s Fashion Countdown will feature celebrities who, in one way or another have made mark in the people’s memory for their unique and extraordinary looks through the year. Thus, this category will be called the Fashionista of the Year.
As the category’s name suggests, this does not just mean stars who always look good, classy, and glamorous; they are those stars who get a second or third look with their eye-catching fashion sense and style. – A real fashionista.
It’s sometimes quite difficult to draw a line between her character as Carrie Bradshaw and SJP herself when it comes to fashion. But one thing is for sure, the actress really stands out with her different and totally eye-catching looks.
Never an average dresser, Rihanna has always stood out with her (sometimes) eccentric looks and style. But somehow, no matter how ‘weird’ she ay already look, the singer seems to have always managed to pull it off.
Already a nominee for our Vavavoom Mom category, Nicole Richie makes it again on this category for her style that never gets unnoticed. Certainly, Harlow’s mom knows how to play and experiment with her looks without compromising her body structure.
Finally, our last nominee seems to have always taken everybody’s attention with her charming yet unique looks. Her charm and elegance is definitely an edge for pulling off her ‘unlikely’ looks.
Now, are you ready to choose the most fashionista of them all?
The Red Carpet. It’s quite funny how these two words may either make or break a celebrity’s fashion career in Hollywood.
For this year, the fashion battle in the red carpet has been a ‘neck-to-neck’ fight. And as 2008 ends, I guess it’s just right that for the 1st CFW Fashion Countdown, a category recognizing the best looks in the red carpet should be included.
And so for our Best Red Carpet Look category, we bring you the looks that have made a mark here in Celebrity Fashion Watch. These are the looks that exuded utter glamour and fab during this year’s various red carpet events. Choosing for the nominees have not been easy for me, I tell you; and so with no further ado, I bring you the nominees for this category.
Putting the people in awe with her Venus-inspired floor-length Marchesa gown at the 80th Annual Academy Awards, Anne Hathaway’s definitely a beauty in red. I just love how the dress complimented Anne’s Snow White skin. She is absolutely a beauty at the Red Carpet.
Her smile, simplicity, and beauty dazzled at the 80th Annual Academy Awards. In a pale pink Dior by John Galliano bustier gown, Bulgari jewels, Roger Vivier clutch and minimal makeup, Cam is just a goddess with a heavenly smile.
Pulling off a dramatic and regal Dior gown at the Oscars, Heidi Klum has just once again proven how one can stand out by being a little bit different. I guess it’s safe to say that at the event, she’s one of those who have really captured the people’s attentions.
Proving that not all black is boring, the Starter Wife actress dazzled at the Emmy’s in her black silk tulle gown straight off Monique Lhuillier’s Spring 2009 runway and Fred Leighton diamonds. It’s just oh-so glamorous!
Well the nominees are in, the next thing to do now is to cast your votes!
A celebrity fashion would never be complete without seeing how stars would ‘innovate’ a classic look and make it their own. Talk about classic, pulling off a white frock in a way that it would be remarkable would probably be a challenge for the stars.
And so, for this matter, our next category for the very first CFW Fashion Countdown will feature celebrities who made a difference in donning on a white dress. – White is Right category.
Who had the most knock-out white fashion statement? Who made their look away from the usual ‘white is always right’ notion?
In her white and flowing J. Mendel gown, the Heroes star made an exquisite presence at the Art of Elysium gala in January this year. With her hair falling and minimal accessories, Ali was indeed a goddess in white.
With her Lanvin tiered ruffles and Tiffany diamonds, Natalie Portman’s look at the Cannes premiere of Che would probably be one of the most unforgettable white looks here in Celebrity Fashion Watch.
Well the frock may look odd at first glance, but as you look at it longer, you would surely learn to discover the frock’s beauty.
Our third and last nominee for this category is someone who’s always been known to be a daredevil in making ordinary looks into extravagant ones.
Promoting her new fragrance, Beckham Signature, at London department store Harvey Nichols last August, Posh Spice was definitely an eye-catcher in her ‘angel-like’ look.
Hey there! I know I promised to give you one category everyday for our very first Celebrity Fashion Watch Fashion Countdown. However, due to my really hectic schedule, I had to miss yesterday’s post.
But, I am here now and ready to give you the latest addition to our 1st CFW Countdown. Today, we are going in to romantic mode as I give you the second category. – CFW’s Couples in Fashion.
So what is this category all about?
Well as its name suggests, this category will showcase Hollywood’s hottest and most stylish couples. Now get ready to choose and pick from among our three nominees. (Let me tell you ahead that this sure is going to be a tough decision for you).
Ready to meet them?!
CFW’s Couples in Fashion first nominee is the power couple, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes.
Looking casual on parties or glamorous on red carpets, this duo has always managed to catch the people’s attention with their stylish fashion and class. Katie has always been regarded for her trendy style while Tom has been loved for his I’ll-wear-anything-I’m-comfortable-with kind of fashion.
Our second nominee is another power couple when it comes to fashion, class, and elegance. And when there’s Tom-Kat ahead, there obviously should be Posh-Becks!
They are once considered to be UK’s best dressed family, and now that they’ve invaded the US, David and Victoria Beckham have brought the concept of dressing-in-fashion together in a whole new level.
Our last but not the least contender for this category is quite not related to the first two mentioned. And while the two wives of the previous pairs are secretly competing with each other, the lady of this last pair seems too unconscious about fashion. – Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt.
Why they made it to the list? – Well fashion need not necessarily be a conscious act. Sometime, it’s just innate.
And there goes our three nominees. Get ready to pick your choice.
From the time I took over this blog middle of last year, the thought of coming up with an annual celebrity fashion countdown has already crossed my mind. But then again, I had to set it behind to prioritize establishing this blog first.
After more than a year of eyeing the bests and the worsts in celebrity fashion, I finally found the courage and the guts to come up with my very own year-end countdown.
How will this countdown work?
Starting today until the end of the week, I will be posting the various categories for the year-end countdown wherein you will choose the best (if not the worst) of every category. I will tally all the votes from each category on the second week of November then reveal the winners on that same week.
So what’s our kick-off category?
Well since 2008 has been apparently a year for Hollywood babies; where pregnancy has become a fashion trend, let’s begin our year-end countdown by choosing Hollywood’s most fashionable new mom.
CFW’s Vavavoom Mom category will showcase Hollywood’s new moms of this year (whether literally new or a mom again) who brought their fashion sense to a new level after giving birth.
Giving birth to her first born, Max Liron early this year, the Genie in a Bottle singer has definitely made a post-pregnancy fashion make-over – blonde-than-ever hair, heavy make-up, and micro-mini dresses.
Being a new mom to her daughter, Harlow brought a good effect not just on Nicole’s disposition but also the actress’s style. With a curvier body now, Nicole can now wear anything she likes without having to look anorexic.
As first time mom to her twins, Max and Emme, JLo made sure that her fashion sense doesn’t get compromised even with the changes in her life. In fact, who would’ve thought she gave birth of twins?!
As the newest mom on this category (although not really new to being a mom), Ange shows off her right curves on the right places right after giving birth to her and Brad’s twins, Vivienne and Knox.
Now, you’ve met the nominees, it’s time you pick the most Vavavoom Mom.
Taking you to a higher level of celebrity fashion coverage. Celebrity Fashion Watch not just delivers the latest trends and the latest hits and misses in celebrity fashion but features everything and anything fashion-related.
