Well we’ve always known that in order to stand up in Hollywood, your fashion statements should stand up first. After all, aside from those stars’ pretty faces, it’s their looks that catch our eyes and sticks to our mind.

And that goes to say that having an identical look is a big no-no.

Today in Celebrity Fashion Watch, two stars (sexy and hot for that matter) will have to battle on one look. Who pulled it off best? Who stood out and stuck to our mind?

It’s R&B diva, Beyonce Knowles vs budding actress and model, Monica Cruz battling it out over a golden beaded Elie Saab halter dress.

First of all, I’d like to extend my warmest greetings to one and all; Merry Christmas! I know that’s a little bit delayed but better late than never, right?

Anyway, as I’ve mentioned on my previous post, we will be having more backtracks here in Celebrity Fashion Watch. Let’s recall some of the posts that made my blogging “career� memorable.

There were the men who gave color and spice in this utterly feminine inclined blog; the so-called “crushes� through Beautiful Man of the Week. From actors to a boxer to an athlete, these are the men that made bang in this blog. And though I still have to figure out the qualifications (aside from them being a personal crush) for this category, the bottom line is that this blog would not be as it is without those sexy and H-O-T men!

I know I’ve already featured several stars who seem to have been thinking the same wearing similar frocks, but still every time I add another pair on the list, it never fails to amuse me. It still thrills me thinking who looks better or who looks worse, who deserves to own it who is just a copycat.

Well take for example this red plunge-neck gown with a large bow of Natalie Cole and Celine Dion.

Music royalty Natalie Cole sported her Zac Posen frock during the 49th Annual Grammy in Los Angeles while the Canadian singer Celine Dion was clad in this ravishing gown at her final Vegas show at Pure nightclub.

Hmmm… This may seem difficult; of course except for cup sizes both music icons carried the gown in their own glamorous and sophisticated ways.

I hate it when I can’t decide. But I guess this time the two have to share with the crown for the Best Dressed award.

Yes, I just said in my previous post that I am not a fan of green until that fabulous emerald gown of Beyonce. Here’s an added reason why I’m starting to look at another side of the shade. But since there are two of them that are sporting the same frock, why not we just decide who carries the frock best.

Okay, okay… I know there is a little bias here ‘coz admittedly, I am one big fan of Jessica Alba. But for the sake of comparison, I will try to be really objective on this one.

Well attending the Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer premiere in Mexico City, Jessica sure glittered even without the glitters of loud jewelry with her Alexander McQueen flowing gown. No other words to describe the look but breathtaking.

I also believe that the lack of jewels and the clean hairdo touted the actress’ assets more; and those are her face and figure. And I think that brought this look its drooling factor.

On the other hand, Mary J. Blige’s sweeping green gown sure swept everybody’s attention during the Movie Rocks red carpet. Contrary to Jessica Alba’s sans jewel look, the singer accentuated her get-up with big, sparkling gold and emerald jewelry. I guess on this case, it is the blings that carried the look and not the gown. If I may add, I think the hair also served its purpose to match those gold necklace and cuffs.

The verdict? Well I really did try to be very objective and fair on my judgment. But what can I do? I like it the simple way. Need I say more?

It’s another time for celebrities “thinking alike�. Today, it’s Big Love star, Chloe Sevigny versus Stardust actress, Michelle Pfeiffer ‘sharing’ a black and white Lela Rose dress.

Sevigny wore the frock during the lower Manhattan Hermès store opening in June while Pfeiffer donned her own version of the dress when she received her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

So who wore it better? Who looked “recycled�?

Personally, I’d give Michelle the award for the best dresser simply because she radiates an ageless beauty. In fact, she carried the dress well enough she looked 10 years less her age. It’s a miss for Chloe on the other hand for looking like a man who just had a San Jose neck lift. She looked ugly – plain and straight.

Back to “celebrities thinking alike� theme. This time it’s Penelope actress Christina Ricci vis-à-vis to E! host Debbie Matenopoulos in sexy black frock.

Ricci donned the dress during L.A. designer Corey Lynn Calter’s runway while Matenopoulos wore her version of the dress at the opening of the Tweety Boutique in Los Angeles.

Actually, despite the fact that they wore quite similar dresses, I love the fact that both of them projected a varied personality that thus made each outfit unique. While Christina exuded with elegance during the runway, Debbie oozed with childish charm and appeal that could probably be due to the event she’s attending.

I guess both get a thumbs up!

Here’s another account of how celebrities think the same (sometimes) when it comes to fashion.

This time it’s Jessica Alba versus Jamie-Lynn Sigler in their Dolce and Gabbana dress.

Miss Invisible donned the frock during Sydney promotion of the Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer movie. The Sopranos actress on the other hand wore the purple version of the dress at the ESPY Awards in Los Angeles.

Well, the similarity of the dress isn’t quite obvious at first glance because of their color. But looking at it closely, you will notice that it’s actually the color that’s changed.

This one’s seems hard for me since I guess both of them carried the dress well; in all confidence and charm. But because I’m a Dark Angel fan, I’d pick Jess this time. �

Sometimes, what’s worse than a fashion disaster is being caught dressed alike with your fellow stars. Ironically, no matter how stylish and creative you are, the world is still too small to be uniquely dressed.

So take for example Vivica A. Fox and Jenny McCarthy in this shining shimmering dress by Naeem Khan.

Vivica donning it during the BET Awards while Jenny’s was worn during the “Welcome to America� party for the Beckhams. See, even the dates are relatively close? People with keen memory can hardly forget the “golden dress�.

So who’s the better dresser?

For Vivica, the dress really complimented her voluptuous body emphasizing her upper and lower asset. However, the dress seems to look pretty small on her. On other hand, Jenny McCarthy looks chic with the dress that stressed her legs and her face features. The downside however is that the dress made her look skinny… What’s with this dres?!

So anyway, who do you think carried the dress better?
