Gimme Some Awards

Fashion at the ESPY Awards: Who hit it, who miss it? (Part 3)

Friday, July 17th, 2009

Well the first two batches have been relatively disappointing with most of the personalities not showing anything that really took us in awe. We hope in this third batch we see something different and inspiring.

So, shall we?

Fashion at the 2009 ESPY awards in Los Angeles

Off to your wedding Miranda? Guess not. Still, this white Calvin Klein haltered gown that Miranda Kerr had looked fabulous even in the red carpet. My problem with this look? – Her ‘do that seem to be so off for the event. A different style, maybe?

17TH ANNUAL ESPY AWARDS

Bruce Jenner’s daughter, Kendall also graced last night’s event in an age-appropriate white frock. But although the frock was sweet and charming like her, I think it still did not miss to showcase the young personality’s budding sex appeal.

17th Annual ESPY Awards - Arrivals

Goddess-inspired frocks are always hard to miss in red carpets; they seem to have that magnet that attracts anybody’s attention. And so it’s no wonder why swimmer Jessica Long got people turning their heads with her navy embellished Grecian gown.

17th Annual ESPY Awards - Arrivals

Wearing a design from the Donna Karen Collection, Australian golf superstar Anna Rawson definitely gets a thumb up from me. What I actually love most in this look is the way it played simplicity and sophistication. Anna did pull this off well.

17th Annual ESPY Awards - Backstage And Audience

Finally, the last feature for this batch and our ESPY Awards coverage is Demi Moore in this custom-made Zac Posen Resort 2010 cold-shoulder dress. She isn’t an athlete, yeah, but we appreciate the fact that Demi seem to have downplayed in the fashion department to pave way for the night’s real stars, the athletes.

Well there go our ESPY Awards Celebrity Fashion Watch coverage. Whose look did you enjoy the most? Whose bored you?

Fashion at the ESPY Awards: Who hit it, who miss it? (Part 2)

Thursday, July 16th, 2009

If you have not been totally pleased with our first batch of looks at last night’s ESPY Awards, let’s see if this second batch of personalities would get your attention.

Fashion at the 2009 ESPY awards in Los Angeles

Serena Williams really got me confused here. Her teal blue Roberto Cavalli gown is glamorous of course, but I don’t know why it just didn’t seem to exude in her. Is it the muscles or just the proportion of her body? I’m sorry but I guess it’s just me who thinks of this.

Fashion at the 2009 ESPY awards in Los Angeles

In a white satin sheer panel dress, Rashida Jones looked charming and soft in the event. My concern however is with the black heels that didn’t seem to match the look’s softness and charm. The side-swept bangs and white earrings are just lovely.

Fashion at the 2009 ESPY awards in Los Angeles

Figure skater Michelle Kwan is one of those looks that actually bored me at the ESPY Awards. This neutral look is far from being glamorous compared to the other attendees looks. I love Michelle you know; she has this kind of charm that seems to be hard to to resist. I wonder why she didn’t play her assets quite well.

Fashion at the 2009 ESPY awards in Los Angeles

Showing that auto drivers can go sexy in red carpets, Danica Patrick hit last night’s event in a feminine Stella McCartney Fall 2009 dress. I have always been in awe of women auto racers, seeing them looking this girlie on red carpets just so pleases me.

Fashion at the 2009 ESPY awards in Los Angeles

While most personalities in the event stepped out from their boxes to be on their most glamorous looks, Victoria Secret model, Marisa Miller just bored me with this white strapless short Dolce & Gabbana dress. Well yeah, she may not have the most boring look that night, but granting her stature as a model, there’s a high expectation of her to bring something new.

Uh-oh, guess no one really put us in awe in this batch.

They BET: The looks at the 2009 BET Awards (Part 2)

Wednesday, July 1st, 2009

Have you got enough of the looks I presented from last week’s BET Awards 2009? Then go check out this post to see more of the star’s looks at event.

Toccara

BET Awards 2009

I’ve always found jumpsuits interesting in red carpets. Not only do they look refreshing, they also exude an effortless elegance to stars wearing them. However, this look from Toccara didn’t seem to show any of those things I previously mentioned. Sorry but this is a MISS for me.

Melody Thornton

BET Awards 2009

I was supposed to say “what was she thinking?!” here but I realized this is just an understatement to describe Melody Thornton’s look at the event. Okay, the ombre fringed Alexander McQueen may hit well on the stage but definitely not on the red carpet. Come on!

Zoe Saldana

2009 BET AWARDS

I’m not sure if I like Zoe’s Calvin Klein white dress or not – there are angles where it look stunning there are some shots were it looked frumpy. But one thing I am most certain about, her hair ‘do is something I totally do not like!

Her Brian Atwood heels are actually gorgeous.

Tyra Banks

2009 BET AWARDS

While I expected Tyra to arrive at the BET Awards in her most glamorous gown, the supermodel opt to dish something different by donning on a menswear-inspired satin ensemble. Although I am not raving over her look at the event, I must say she did get my attention.

Alicia Keys

2009 BET Awards held at The Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, CA

If there is one look that really wowed me at BET, it must be Alicia Keys’s Moroccan inspired embellished mini Jenny Packham dress matched with Christian Louboutin sandals. Seeing it for the first time, I just couldn’t help my self but be in awe with the look. Love it! Total HIT for me.

Beyoncé

2009 BET AWARDS

Are we saving the best for last? It’s for you to tell. The night’s biggest winner – bagging to major awards – Beyonce Knowles wore a colorful Balmain dress which I think was stunning enough to be a hit. But as to the singer giving us something new in her style, that I am not sure.

Well, who do you think put on their best foot with their looks?

The Girls and the fashion at the 2009 CFDA Fashion Awards (Part 2)

Wednesday, June 17th, 2009

Here we are on the second and last installment of our post about the celebrity fashion at Monday’s 2009 CFDA Fashion Awards.

Let’s go check out how these attendees enjoyed and took their looks seriously for the event.

Diane Kruger

diane-kruger

I don’t know but there must really be something about Diane Kruger that exudes with so much elegance. This red minidress with black beaded shoulders by Jason Wu she wore at the event would sure look ordinary had it not been worn by her. Such grace she has, right?

Heidi Klum

heidi-klum

Dazzling in a metallic one-shouldered gown designed by Michael Kors, Heidi Klum sure has wowed everyone by being this glamorous in her pregnancy. If I would look this great, I might not mind getting pregnant again. On second thought, this kind of pregnancy must be of maintenance.

Kerry Washington

kerry-washington

Using glitters to establish elegance, Kerry Washington donned on a silverly grey Doo.Ri Resort 2010 sleeveless gown with a plunging neckline. This is what I mean with a hairdo going along with the gown’s sophistication.

Keeping her jewels and accessories minimal is one good move by Kerry here.

Kirsten Dunst

kirsten-dunst

Showing that she’s really taking the celebrity fashion competition, Kirsten Dunst opted to risk with an edgy and bold piece with her asymmetrical minidress by Rodarte. Was the risk worth it? I guess so but not enough to send me raving about it.

If you think the frock is familiar, well that is because that’s the same dress worn by Reese Witherspoon during the Los Angeles premiere of Monsters vs. Aliens last March. Check the look here.

Lydia Hearst

lydia-hearst

Probably one of my favorite looks that night, Lydia Hearts’s beaded one-shoulder white gown by Marc Bouwer is just lovely to the highest level. Beautiful but not for general patronage.

Well, what can you say with all these looks?

The Girls and the fashion at the 2009 CFDA Fashion Awards

Wednesday, June 17th, 2009

Fashion event you say? Well expect girls to go and consider it one serious celebrity fashion moment.

And you bet it’s serious. Looking at the stars and their looks during the 2009 CFDA Fashion Awards on Monday (June 15) at the Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center, you could really say those celebs have indeed prepared for this moment like it was the Oscars; okay, not really.

Anyway, to give you a better understanding of this serious fashion I am talking about, here are some of the celebrities who attended that event.

Blake Lively

blake

Seriously projecting the Barbie look, the Gossip Girls star was drop dead gorgeous in her neon pink Michael Kors Fall 2009 strapless sheath dress.

My concern here though is the hair that was a not-so-fab factor in this fabulous look. For someone donning on a frock as mod as this, can Blake do a little more effort in carrying it?

Ashley Olsen

ashley-olsen

Had I not known Ashley Olsen’s penchant over dramatic and scene-stealer looks, this vintage persimmon gown would probably a big miss for me. Because of that I am giving this look due credit for being fabulous in the most unpretty way I know. ‘Guess this is some look that only Ashley Olsen can pull off perfectly.

Claire Danes

claire-danes

Perfectly shaping her hips falling gracefully to her body, Claire Danes’s cutout Narciso Rodriguez gown is one oh-lala look for me. And that is despite looking backward with its straps. This is just enchanting!

Coco Rocha

coco-rocha

I couldn’t actually decide to like or dislike Coco Rocha’s look that night. Well for one her asymmetrical Michael Kors Resort 2010 red dress is quite bold and daring. But her hair ain’t something I would place on the fabulous department. What do you think?

We’ll have more of the stars and their looks at the 2009 CFDA Fashion Awards on our next post.

Young and Beautiful at the 11th Annual Young Hollywood Awards (Part 3)

Tuesday, June 9th, 2009

Here we are on our last installment of our 11th Annual Young Hollywood Awards fashion coverage. Let’s go check out more of the young and beautiful personalities – who hit (or miss) with their looks – at Sunday’s event.

Shall we?

Madeline Zuma

Madeline Zuma

I’m actually thinking whether I’d give this charming look of Madeline Zuma. For one, I love the mix of charm and boldness of this look but the overall construction of the frock – with Madeline’s ‘do – seem to bring out a freaky feeling. The color’s good but the overall construction is not.

Monique Coleman

Monique Coleman

Clad in a burgundy strapless dress and with a ‘do that’s so hard to miss, Monique Coleman sure is one of those who stood out at the event. Although it’s not something I would want to try, I believe the hair looks good in her and vice versa. For having the courage to be different, I’m giving this look thumbs up.

Phoebe Price

Phoebe Price

Probably the oddest look at the event, Phoebe Price’s plunging neckline red and black gown did send me horrors. Why this look is literally shouting red alert! And just because she has a red gown, does she have to have her hair red, too? Geez! Did she even look at the mirror before going to the event?!

Rumer Willis

Rumer Willis, fashion miss

Wearing a mini black dress with a ruffle skirt, don’t you think Rumer Willis should go get a serious styling lesson or at least get a good stylist now? I’ve seen her in various events already but none of her styles have really put me in awe. I somehow think the actress doesn’t seem to know her assets and is sometimes misled in thinking showing more skin can get her an easy hit.

Oh well, who do you think among these young and beautiful celebrities had the best look?

Young and Beautiful at the 11th Annual Young Hollywood Awards (Part 2)

Tuesday, June 9th, 2009

As we’ve seen from the previous post, being young and beautiful in Hollywood sure seems to be the best thing in this world. However, in the celebrity fashion side, being young and beautiful does not mean an easy hit and nods from fashion critics.

Today, let’s continue with our 11th Annual Young Hollywood Awards celebrity fashion coverage.

Evan Rachel Wood

evan-rachel-wood

Now, this is probably one of my favorite looks at the event. The black and silver Gucci Fall 2009 dress is something that only a young and beautiful Hollywood personality like Evan Rachel Wood can give justice. I love the spunky feel of the overall look that anybody would find it really hard to ignore.

Jaime Chung

jamie-chung

With Jaime Chung’s cute and charming face, I wonder why she didn’t play her assets well and settled for this boring strapless frock. This ain’t giving justice to her being young and beautiful in Hollywood. Not even the pair of shoes is interesting.

Katherine McPhee

katharine-mcphee

I’ve always thought of red as exuding with class, elegance, and sophistication. This red Reem Acra Resort 2009 silk satin strapless cocktail dress that Katharine McPhee wore is actually no different to that. I, however think the singer should go experiment more on her looks and enjoy being young and beautiful. This one seems too safe for her.

LaLa Vazquez

lala-vazquez

Another so-so look in the event is LaLa Vazquez in her Alexander Wang denim and velvet corset top. I actually have been looking for something striking in this look but nothing really that interest me. It’s not ugly, but not spectacular either.

Catch the last installment of this event on the next post.

Young and Beautiful at the 11th Annual Young Hollywood Awards

Tuesday, June 9th, 2009

Many people would die to be in Hollywood. In fact, many already did still wanting to earn a spot in that limelight but still got nothing. And so I say, lucky are those stars, who at their young age have already been enjoying the life and glitters to be in Hollywood.

And so for Sunday’s 11th Annual Young Hollywood Awards, let’s all go have a celebrity fashion check out (and be envious) with the young and beautiful personalities who attended the event.

Annalyne McCord

annalynne-mccord

Clad in a black strapless number with sleek waves and red lips, Annalyne McCord sure made a ‘fierce’ appearance in the event. Although the frock is anything but unusual, I must say she pulled this off using sheer confidence and spunky attitude.

Bai Ling

bai-ling

I’m never really a fan of Bai Ling’s styles, but this one here sure gets a nod from me. It’s not everyday that we see this actress in this subtle and pleasing-in-the-eye look, so I’m definitely giving this a hit remark!

Bar Rafaeli

bar-rafaeli

Pink frocks are usually okay and safe in this kind of event. I guess this is what Bar Rafaeli had in mind as she donned on this one shoulder Notte by Marchesa hot pink mini dress. It’s not that eye-catching but it’s not something you’d really call a miss. So-so, I guess?

Catherine Hardwicke

catherine-hardwicke

Yeah, she’s not that young like young but unarguably, Catherine Hardwicke has captured the hearts of the youngs. Clad in a simple LBD, we’re quite sure her presence is enough for the fashion freaks like me.

Eva Marcille

eva-marcille

I have no doubt Eva Marcille can pull off this ivory halter neck gown she had. White maybe a safe choice but this one’s design is a bit tricky.

We’ll have more of these stars on our next post.

Glamour Women of the Year Awards: The Bold in Colors

Wednesday, June 3rd, 2009

If we have been bored to death by most of the attendees with their monochromes celebrity fashion in our previous post, let’s see if these stars we have here would impress us as they go the opposite wearing frocks in daring and bold colors.

Amanda Seyfried

amanda-seyfried

Wearing a multi-coloured satin dress and a sassy pair of Gladiator heels, the Mama Mia star is actually quite an awkward sight to see. You see I love her sexy curls and moody make-up but I’m having quite an issue with the frock. ‘Guess too much color and patterns make this bit of an eyesore.

Michelle Ryan

michelle-ryan

Now this look of Michelle Ryan is quite the opposite to Amanda’s; I love the hot pink maxi dress but the hair and the make-up is just awful. This look would’ve been a hit with a more glamorous ‘do and subtle make-up.

Fearne Cotton

fearne-cotton

Fierce in her rich red frock with tiered skirt, Fearne sure was a picture of 80’s fashion and style. I actually like the play of color here; the shoes, the bag, and the frock were matched perfectly. Even her hair and make-up coordinated the look, too.

Katy Perry

katy-perry

If it’s bold and daring we are talking about at the Glamour Women of the Year Awards, Katy Perry would definitely be on the top list. Her bright blue silk mini dress paired with red multi-strap platform heels is something anybody can hardly miss. I may not be crazy over Katy’s style but I must give credit to her fashion attitude.

Sarah Webb

sarah-webb

Although I have nothing against blue, I think this blue frock Sarah Webb had at the event is something I really won’t call a hit. Could be the length, could be the color itself, but whatever it is, it sure is giving the look a dowdy feel.

I guess here we’ve learned that bold colors, too wouldn’t be enough to make a celebrity fashion a hit.

Glamour Women of the Year Awards: The Monochromes

Wednesday, June 3rd, 2009

Organized by Glamour magazine, the Glamour Women of the Year Awards “recognize women in the public eye”. This year, the event took place at Berkeley Square Gardens in London, England.

And since the event is all about glamour and women, expect another celebrity fashion battle. Unfortunately, some attendees didn’t seem to take the ‘battle’ too seriously as they opted to be on the safe side of the war zone wearing monochrome frocks. Well on second thought, monochromes can be not that ‘safe’ too.

Let’s check out the looks at Glamour’s event.

Adele

adele

In an all-black look, the night’s UK Solo Artist of the Year awardee, was wise enough to break the monotone in her look by adding up an interesting pair of gold earrings. While I see nothing wrong in Adele’s look here, I must say that this one’s a bit opera-ish.

Becki Newton

becki-newton

Winning Comedy Actress of the Year Award, people may have been expecting too much from Becki Newton. However, with this black strapless frock with white polka dots, I don’t think spectators were satisfied at all. Boring!

Kylie Minogue

kylie-minogue

Now this is what I mean with monochrome with attitude. Kylie sure deserves to be called Woman of the Year and Entrepreneur of the Year; why this look says it all!

Estelle

estelle

Another disappointment I may say for the night is Estelle who opted to go subtle in her fashion wearing a white shell patterned dress from Stella McCartney. Winning the Editor’s Special Award, this look is just too safe…yawn!

Rachel Stevens

rachel-stevens

I was once a huge SClub7 fan, so can’t blame me to be this excited seeing Rachel Stevens. Unfortunately, it’s quite disappointing to see her in this unfabulous off-white chiffon dress. This may not be dowdy at all, but still, we would want to see her in something trendy and bold.

Sigh, among these looks, Kylie’s the only one I think that really did some effort.

2009 MTV Movie Awards: The Styles, The Looks, and The Stars (Part 3)

Sunday, May 31st, 2009

Now here we are in our third installment of the styles, looks, and stars at the 2009 MTV Movie Awards. Enjoy the looks and the read!

Leighton Meester

leighton-meester

I always had the impression that little black dresses are somehow predictable and boring already. But thanks to Leighton Meester, her Emilio De La Morena cut-out dress has taken LBD to a new edge.

Megan Fox

megan-fox

Megan will always have this appeal any man could not resist. However, I don’t know if it’s just me but her in a Dolce&Gabbana black and gold strapless brocade cocktail dress and slick-backed hair looked really weird. So weird I think it’s ugly.

Miley Cyrus

miley-cyrus

I don’t know about what you think of Miley’s look but personally I think her Moschino Cheap and Chic nude silk cowl neck halter dress is too formal for the event. This is supposed to be her event – people her age, fun, hip, playful – but it looks like there wasn’t much fun and energy in this look.

Rumer Willis

rumer-willis

Wearing a green geometric print dress, Rumer Willis’s look failed to actually surprise and impress me. This is one is another so-so look from the actress.

Sandra Bullock

sandra-bullock

There’s just one thing that crossed my mind seeing Sandra here: what are those black tights doing in May?

Sienna Miller

sienna-miller

In her teal sequined dress, Sienna Miller obviously had fun with her look. Again, I may not be a fan over sequined frocks but seeing stars having fun wearing it makes me change my mind.

Vanessa Hudgens

vanessa-hudgens

I sure am a huge Vanessa H fan but I honestly think this orange Max Azria dress is just not for her. You know, she doesn’t have that stunning height and curves enough to pull off this look. I’m sorry but this one’s a mess.

Now that wraps up our 2009 MTV Movie Awards celebrity fashion coverage. Tell me what you think about it.

2009 MTV Movie Awards: The Styles, The Looks, and The Stars (Part 2)

Sunday, May 31st, 2009

The previous post showed you the looks of Ashley Greene, Ashley Tisdale, Audrina Patridge, and director Catherine Hardwicke at Sunday night’s 2009 MTV Awards. Today, let’s go check out more from the night’s looks.

Hayden Panettiere

Hayden Panettiere at MTV Movie Awards

Showing the playful side in her, the Heroes star arrived at the event in a charming silk taffeta cowl-neck frock and satin peep-toe sandals. With her hair neatly done and that smile that’s just infectious, it’s just hard to ignore Hayden’s presence and charisma.

Jaime Chung

jaime-chung

Probably one of my favorite looks of the night, Jaime Chung arrived at the 2009 MTV Movie Awards in a charming and colorful minidress. Why I love the look? Well this is MTV and not the Grammy’s. Ain’t it great to see stars get laid back in their looks in an awards event just for once?

Keke Palmer

keke-palmer

I definitely am a huge peach fan. And so seeing Keke Palmer in this sexy peach frock, I just couldn’t help but smile in appreciation. Unfortunately, the love I have for her dress does not extend to loving her hair and shoes. Sorry but I don’t see any coordination here.

Lauren Conrad

lauren-conrad

One reason why I love watching stars at any MTV event is because they all can have fun with what they wear. Unfortunately, Lauren Conrad’s Moschino red and navy floral print sleeveless dress with a ruffled hem and a Chrisitian Loubotin sandals doesn’t seem to show much of the actress having fun with her look. Whether she has just embraced her goth side or what, this just isn’t Lauren at her best.

LeAnn Rimes

leann-rimes1

I don’t know if LeAnn’s just too serious with trying to look glam but her dramatic, textured black gown is just too hard to appreciate in an MTV event.

More to come!

LeAnn Rimes, Marissa Miller, Martina McBride, Miley Cyrus, and Nicole Kidman @ the 44th annual Academy of Country Music Awards

Tuesday, April 7th, 2009

Now we’re finally on our last batch of our Celebrity Fashion Watch 44th annual Academy of Country Music Awards special.

Let’s check out who from this list stood out in the crowd with their red carpet looks.

LeAnn Rimes

leann-rimes

Kicking off this batch is a little black dress and Jimmy Choo sandals sported by LeAnn Rimes at the event. But while I love the Choo gladiators and have nothing against the LBD, I just think LeAnn could’ve done a little better than this. You know, with all the colors in the red carpet at the event, one can’t help but wonder why LeAnn had to settle in this quite frumpy look.

Marissa Miller

marisa-miller

Doing a re-run to January Jones’s Emmy Awards look last year, Marissa Miller was clad in this Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2009 dress. While Marissa may have missed that her gown’s already been worn by somebody in the red carpet, she could’ve done a little effort to pull off this look. My I wouldn’t have noticed this look from the crowd.

Martina McBride

martina-mcbride

Another hey-fabulous-but-I’ve-seen-this-before look is Martina McBride’s white flowing Badgley Mischka gown embellished with embroidered turquoise beads and jewels on her shoulder.

Well if only for looking fabulous at the event, I would give this a hit verdict.

Miley Cyrus

miley-cyrus

I don’t really know if I should love or hate Miley’s clay grey Monique Lhullier one-shouldered gown as I still can’t decide whether I like it or not. I guess it’s just too neutral that one can’t even make any comment of it. And a so-so look it’s actually not good in fashion as it also spells D-U-H?!

Nicole Kidman

nicole-kidman

Looking really slender in her L’Wren Scott gown from the designer’s Fall 2009 collection, Nicole Kidman was actually in her usual glamorous self which is actually nothing new and nothing fresh.

Aside from finding the look boring already, I think Nicole should try other designers, too as her looks have turned out monotonous and predictable already.

And so that wraps up our Celebrity Fashion Watch 44th annual Academy of Country Music Awards special.

Jessica Harp, Julianne Hough, Kellie Pickler, and Taylor Swift @ the 44th annual Academy of Country Music Awards

Tuesday, April 7th, 2009

Okay, the first batch of our Celebrity Fashion Watch 44th annual Academy of Country Music Awards special has been quite disappointing with no one that really amazed us with their looks. Let’s see if this next batch can finally get a hit, hit, hit verdict from us.

So, let’s start?

Jessica Harp

jessica-harp

Clad in a navy blue and white striped gown, the American singer’s look at the ACM Awards would probably be one of my favorite looks. I love it because it’s not the typical gown you always see on red carpets, it’s fresh, it’s young, and so charming.

Not a bad start for this batch, right?!

Julianne Hough

julianne-hough

Shimmering in her long blonde locks and with her gold and bronze beaded v-neck Zuhair Murad gown, Julianne Hough looked definitely prepared to walk in the red carpet. But while this sure was a head-turner look at the event, I’m afraid to say that metallics seem to be so out of the season already. Like come on, we know glitters always tend to get the people’s attention but the ‘fresh’ and ‘novel’ factor would always be lacking.

To be really honest, Julianne’s look here – blonde in a glittering gown – is something we’ve all seen over and over again in any red carpet events.

Kellie Pickler

kellie-pickler

Now here’s another blonde in a metallic gown, Kellie Pickler in a gold strapless sequin fish scale Zuhar Murad Haute Couture Spring 2009 gown. To be blunt and honest, I hate the look. – I hate the ‘do, I hate the fish scales, and I hate the gold. Sorry but this just ain’t my idea of a perfect red carpet look.

Taylor Swift

taylor-swift1

Going away from the completely-blinged-and-glittery-gown, singer, Taylor Swift opted to be in a red hot Angel Sanchez Spring 2009 one-shouldered gown. While the hair and the make-up looked totally fantastic on Taylor, I think the gown didn’t quite flatter her figure (makes one think there’s a baby bump there).

Oh well at least there’s Jessica Harp’s look which I can say I really love.

Miley Cyrus, Amanda Seyfried, Vanessa Hudgens, Heidi Klum, and Kate Winslet @ the 81st Annual ACADEMY Awards

Monday, February 23rd, 2009

I know I may have gotten a number of enemies on the post before this. So to make it up, I’ll try my best to be nice with this batch of Oscars celebrity fashion attendees.

Miley Cyrus

Miley Cyrus at the Oscars

Truly a princess of the night, Miley Cyrus puts everyone in awe with her Zuhair Murad Spring 2009 Couture gown. I’m actually speechless with this look.

You know, other times I would think this the teen star is quite overdressed here but thinking what event this is and considering Miley’s age, this has got to be glamour to the highest level.

Amanda Seyfried

amanda-seyfried

Dazzling in a Valentino Spring 2009 Couture gown, Amanda Seyfried is one darling of the night. I actually love the frock’s simplicity behind its glamour. Love the sexy waves of her hair, although I think it looked a bit stiff for the look.

Vanessa Hudgens

vanessa-hudgens

Probably one of my most loved looks of the night, Vanessa Hudgens sure dazzled last night with her Georgina Chapman-designed gown. I love this look and I love Vanessa. Need I say more?

Heidi Klum

heidi-klum

Wearing a Roland Mouret red frock, Heidi Klum is definitely fabulous at the Oscars but I think there’s something with the look that actually bothers me: that this is somehow similar to the gown she wore at last year’s Oscars.

Oh well, if only for her funky accessories, I’d give this look an A-okay look.

Kate Winslet

kate-winslet

I’ve actually been loving Kate Winslet’s looks lately. And so for that reason, I can easily forgive her for this unspectacular grey YSL Atelier one-shouldered gown. But with her bagging the Best Actress award, who cares if she’s had the best or worst dress for the night, right?!

Wanna see the stylish men during the Oscars? Catch them at Shelly’s Shoe Boxers here in 451press.
