Celebrity Fashion Watch

We’ve seen five of the looks that I think topped during the Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards last night. To recall, these are the charming looks of America Ferrera in gold, Brenda Song in floral prints, and Jennifer Love Hewitt in sunny yellow. Then there’s the sexy gray frock of Ashlee Simpson and the ‘leg-flaunting’ dress of Cameron Diaz.

And we are not through yet. Here’s the continuation of the lookers (both hits and misses) during the event:

The reds. Well if a pair of red shoes is now a staple, then I guess a red dress is, too. However, I still believe pulling off a red frock still has risks. For Heroes star, Hayden Panettiere it may look great, but to American Idol winner, Jordin Sparks it didn’t. I have so much respect to Jordin’s talent, but I think her talent doesn’t extend well to fashion. She just looks so bulky with this red dress. Gee, Jordin looks like she’s about to explode!

Hello! It’s a beautiful Sunday everyone. And while most of you is enjoying the weekend by relaxing and other stuff, here I am busy doing this post.

Last night was a big night for the kids and teens in the US as the annual Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards took place at the Pauley Pavilion in Westwood, California.

Well among the many award events in Hollywood, I must say that the Kids’ Choice have always been one of my favorites simply because the stars seem to be more wholesome, casual, and comfortable with the event. That is of course in the fashion aspect.

So, whose looks topped (and flopped) for this year’s Kid’s Choice Awards?

The girl in gold, America Ferrera sure dazzles in her charming and elegant frock. Did she lost weight or it’s just the dress? Anyway, this one’s really cute and appropriate for the event. And of course I’ve always loved the wholesomeness of this Ugly Betty star.

It’s Versus time again, ladies and gentlemen. Today’s Versus edition is still related to our Oscars coverage; featuring two of the best looks at the 80th Academy Awards. – Hot momma, Jennifer Garner and sexy mom-to-be, Jessica Alba.

Who do you think wore the best make-up at the event?

For Mrs. Afleck, being the first presenter of the night means giving an impact to the audience. To do this, Adir Abergel for Frederic Fekkai, her hairstylist, put emphasis on her eyes through black cat-eye liner paired with shimmering nude lips.

I personally like those slashes on her eyes; they’re definitely eye catching. Jen’s make-up sure hit well with her skin tone that they look so natural.

Cash Warren’s fiancé on the other hand, is like a modern goddess with her braided updo made by her hairstylist, Robert Ramos. Add that with golden eyes and sun-kissed glowing skin, and viola, one truly divine and mesmerizing look!

Now I know you have your own bets for Oscars best looks, but with these two as the choices, you do you think looked better than the other?

The red carpet would probably be one of the highlights at the 80th Academy Awards; stars of glittered more with their signatured gowns and expensive jewels. However, with among the varied colors and designs of these frocks, one became supreme among the stars. – One-strapped gowns.

Whether they want to feel and look like a goddess or not, stars like Katherine Heigl, Hilary Swank, Anne Hathaway, Amy Adams, and Diane Lane definitely looked so enchanting with their different versions of the one-strapped.

Venus? Pandora? Which star fits whom? Who looked best, who looked worst?

I know all of you have your own bets for the best and worst dressers, but point is, these single-strapped flowing gowns sure are making big in the Red Carpet.

From the faces and dresses that astounded and enchanted all of us at the Red Carpet of the 80th Annual Academy Awards comes the group of stars that (believe me) dressed so unbelievably. Yes, somebody looked more horrible than the Queen of Hearts, Heidi Klum.

Here’s the post that probably most of you have been waiting for; the worst dressers category.

Cameron Diaz. Oh no, she ain’t that horrible. In fact, Miss Diaz was in her usual glamour and fab look. However, I’m thinking Cam has just got too much of the usual in her; like I’ve seen her with this kind of look (not necessarily identical) so many times before. I guess the only thing that seems to be relatively novel is her defined muscles.

Awards shows are probably one of the most exciting events in Hollywood. Of course, this is where anticipations and expectations come in one place. However, I don’t know if Hollywood just had a fashion conspiracy at the 80th Annual Academy Awards in California, but really, seeing the stars looks, it’s so easy to group them according to their frocks.

The Red Ones

Well they are those celebs who took the month of love too seriously. Some have hit it, some didn’t.

Anne Hathaway

Being engaged and in-love, actress Anne Hathaway has the excuse to be bold and daring in her Venus-inspired floor-length Marchesa. She is dazzling.

Heidi Klum

Oh the Queen of Hearts! Now this is what too much is for me, Heidi Klum’s baggy and heavy looking gown. Nah-ah… MISS!

Miley Cyrus

Charming, sweet, and chic. Miley Cyrus’ red gown is just oh so adorable. It’s just right for her age and sophisticated enough for the event.

I know my list for the best dressed celebrities at the Grammys has been a tad delayed. But hey, better late than never, right?!

Here are the looks at the 50th Annual Grammy Awards that wowed and enchanted the audience. They are actually those celebs who walked the red carpet in a frock that seem to have won the jackpot in an online casino game.

Miley, o Miley, young as she is, Miley Cyrus already has this great taste for fashion. I actually love those sexy black curls she has… Sweet!

Well I just actually learned that the Grammy is originally called the Gramophone Awards. Held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California the 50th annual Grammy Awards definitely made a blast with superb performances and deserving awardees. And of course with awards and stars, some things are just inevitable like… FASHION.

So whose look was memorable, whose was forgettable?

While we were used to presenting the best looks first, why don’t we dish first the looks that seem to have gotten lost in the Grammys. There’s one getting ready for her sleep in her lingerie, one ready for her ballet dance, one looking so Halloween, and two who are actually looking like they need to be place in nursing homes already.

So, without further ado, here are the disasters…

Shall we all give our goodnight kiss to singer Adrienne Lau? Honey, the party hasn’t started yet and you’re looking like ready to doze off to bed with your sleep wear.

Now you know who I’m referring to as going to her ballet performance. Does Rihanna actually realize that this kind of bulky frock easily go to the miss list?!

I don’t know if TV personality Tanika Ray is actually doing a reincarnation of Scary Spice ‘coz frankly, she looks scarier than the character. What scare!

I guess Deedee Bridgewater and Cyndi Lauper are better off in a nursing home with these looks. Would someone please remind Deedee this is not a circus?! And Cyndi, you’re so over that seductive and hot stage! In case you need care information, you can contact a nursing home. Puh-leaazeeeee…..

The 14th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards wasn’t just a day of recognizing actors who showed exemplary performance in the past year neither was it just a day for celebrities to flaunt and show off their fabulous signatured frocks. It was also an event for Hollywood couples to make it a date and spend time together with pals.

Awards, awards, awards…. Oh I just love award shows; they seem to give me the opportunity to make the most out of this blog. And since there was no ceremony for the Golden Globes, the 14th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards at the Shrine Auditorium would be my kick off for this year’s red carpet events.

And indeed, this has been THE event for celebs who want to flaunt and show off their best in the fashion department. Hits, misses, awesome, awful; I got them all covered! It’s all here in Celebrity Fashion Watch.

This year would probably be Fergie’s year; she bagged awards at the American Music Awards, MTV Australian Video Music Awards, MuchMusic Video Awards, Teen Choice Awards, and MTV Video Music Awards. Add to that, her singles are swooping high on the charts worldwide.

Most importantly, her fashion statements this year are most of the times, winners.

Take this little black dress she wore at Macy’s at the South Coast Plaza in California. It’s chic, simple, sophisticated, and absolutely fabulous! Pair it with a sexy wedge and sexy soft curls, and viola! – One hot dutchess.

What I like most about Fergie is that every time she comes in public, she always sees to it that she is on her best. Her sense of fashion was never too loud, never too revealing nor boring; it’s just plain sophistication and glamour.

Wow, what more could she ask for?

Along with Billboard Music Awards, the Grammy Awards, and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, the American Music Awards show is one annual event that the whole music community in the US looks forward.

This year, the awaited event took place at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. And as I always say, this kind of event shouldn’t be missed here in Celebrity Fashion Watch. And since there’s quite a number of the hits and misses at the red carpet, this entry shall be divided into two – the thumbs ups and the thumbs downs.

Awards shows often bring excitement to people, myself included. However, it’s an irony that I get excited yet get bored watching stars competing who will look best with their attires during these events.

This year’s CMA (Country Music Association) Awards is not much different from the previous years - same good performance and same ‘competition’ when it comes to fashion.

Of course there were those who succeeded, but there were also those who flopped.

Well here’s a list of those celebs who I think need some fashion review for a better show (off) next year.

Honoring recording artists based on worldwide sales figures that the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry provided, the World Music Awards would probably be one of those events that musicians all over the world await.

This year, the Sporting Club in Monte Carlo, Manaco glistened as music stars from all over the world convened for this prestigious event.

And as I always say, when stars gather, expect the parade of frocks in various styles, shapes, and sizes (to say the least). And of course some succeeded, some just plain failed. For WMV, here’s my own list of celebrity fashion winners and losers.

Celine Dion is a certified winner with this dress that is so glamorous I cannot take my eyes off it. She looked so refreshed and young; although I think her foundation didn’t perfectly match with her skin tone. Anyway, I could let that pass if only for that frock.
