Rumer Willis needs a bra, badly!

Wednesday, July 16th, 2008

Rumer Willis

While I have nothing against those who feel more comfortable without a bra, I certainly think Rumer Willis case is different.

Attending the Power of Paws launch party yesterday, Rumer shows off that look that will make anyone run and get her a bra. Isn’t that suppose to be a wholesome event for dogs and dog lovers?!

Karina Smirnoff’s overly done sexiness

Sunday, July 13th, 2008

Karina Smirnoff

How does one define sexiness? Well this question seems to be a cliché to most beauty pageants here in the Philippines. However, when I saw this photo of Karina Smirnoff, I started to wonder again what sexiness really mean.

Is sexiness all about a display of more and more skin? Because if so, this look of the world champion professional dancer at the VH1 Rock Honors Exclusive VIP Party in California would have really nailed it. However, if sexiness would mean the ability to carry a look elegantly and with glamour, that I don’t know.

I’m not saying Karina isn’t glamorous and elegant but the look itself is something I think was overly done. Too much skin and too much make-up won’t really make this look a hit.

Jennifer Hudson

While I think Alicia Keys didn’t have much of courage to experiment on her looks, I believe American Idol finalist and Dreamgirls award-winning actress, Jennifer Hudson has just had too much of it that it seems like she’s loosing all control.

Liv Tyler does the cow fashion

Thursday, July 3rd, 2008

Liv Tyler

I was starting to suffer headache this morning because of the moody weather here in Philippines and that became worse as I learn something today.

We know Hollywood personalities. They are one of the most conscious persons when it comes to their looks and fashion statements.

But I’ll prove you wrong today here on Celebrity Fashion Watch.

“Not all actresses and models are good in the fashion department.â€? Those were the words I said to myself when I saw this photo of Liv Tyler at the Givenchy ‘09 Fall/Winter Haute Couture fashion show.

Wearing a black and white asymmetrical Givenchy dress, the American actress and model sure looked like a cow that grew beautiful legs and beautiful skin. On second thought, I’m actually torn between a cow and a Dalmatian.

Which do you think this look closely resembles?

Who stole Rose McGowan’s other shoe?!

Rose McGowan at Cannes

It’s really funny what stars nowadays would do in the name of celebrity fashion. Some would hide their age too much you’d want to puke, some would really try to age to get a mature look they’d suck, and some would just go crazy just to be different and take the limelight.

Natalie Portman in an oregami dress

Natalie Portman

If you are one of those who thinks white is always right when it comes to fashion, then you better think again and check out this look of actress Natalie Portman at the Cannes premiere of Che.

In Lanvin tiered ruffles and Tiffany diamonds, one wouldn’t say that the frock is ugly because it honestly isn’t. However, one wouldn’t find the dress as super fabulous either. In fact, the first time I saw it I thought Natalie Portman has gone crazy wearing an oregami dress. But I look again and realized it really isn’t oregami, it’s just a dress that’s probably inspired by a flock of seagulls.

Must be really heavy carrying that dress, huh, Nat?! Again, it’s not ugly. It’s just so wrong!

Anyway, now we’ve mentioned about dress, I’d like to introduce you to Brandlet, an online shopping resource dedicated to women. With its wide range of authentic brand name apparels for women like Dolce & Gabbana, Ellen Tracy, Liz Clairborne, Ralph Lauren, and more, one could surely enjoy the fashionista in them.

Deborah Roberts

Who says Hollywood actors and actresses are the only ones who should watch out for their looks?

I guess somebody owe to tell Deborah Roberts this when she attended the 68th Annual American Ballet Theatre Spring Gala in New York City wearing a gown that had some bust problem.

Georgina Chapman

Being innovative is daring. And to standout you have to be bold and different.

Well seeing this photo of Georgina Chapman at Britain’s Best 2008 today sure made me think of the words daring, bold, and different. Standout, it is. Fashion hit, no!

Janet Jackson’s White Suit: A Fashion Hit or Miss?

Saturday, April 26th, 2008

Janet Jackson

I admit, although it had been almost a year of blogging about the hits and misses and celebrity fashion, there are still times (a lot to be specific) when I get confused with my entries. You know, the kind where my mind’s arguing whether or not a celebrity look is gorgeous or ugly.

Just like what Janest Jackson has here arriving at the 19th Annual GLAAD Media Awards in California.

Well I was really in awe at first looking at Janet wearing this white suit added with a touch of charm through pink stripes. It absolutely has that regal appeal. However, looking close at it, you begin to think if the suit is too small not to fit in Janet’s chest or too big that it looks so bulging on her legs.

Then you begin to notice that her hair is as big as her suit like she just had herself New York, NY hair transplants. And you tell yourself, “It ain’t that regal after all.

Darn! Maybe you can help me give the verdict for this look.

Rinko Kikuchi can make pink look trashy

Tuesday, April 22nd, 2008

Rinko Kikuchi

Just like typical girls, I also have this great fascination over ‘pink fashion’. Whether it’s a T-shirt, a casual dress, a gown, or shoes, pink often makes me feel so cute and charming. And just like white, I’ve always thought that pink will always hit it in fashion.

But with Japanese actress, Rinko Kikuchi wearing this pink and black ensemble during the Metropolitan Opera “LaFille Du Regiment Opening Night, I guess I was just too naïve to assume that pink is always a hit.

The 27-year-old Academy Award nominee may just want to look charming and cute here with those lace, frills, and bangs (!) but I guess she just had too much of it. Sweet look is good but this one’s saccharin! I just couldn’t take the hair but most of all I can’t bear looking at her frock. It’s just oh so wrong!

Geri Halliwell reinvents herself as the new Baby Spice

Sunday, April 13th, 2008

geri-halliwell-baby-spice.jpg

Since the Spice Girls have finally ended their reunion concert months ago, does this mean the girls can now change their ‘Spice titles’?

Well take a look at Geri Halliwell a.k.a. Ginger Spice arriving at the Galaxy British Book Awards in London, England. Do you think Geri plans to throw her Ginger title now and exchange it with Emma Bunton’s Baby Spice title?

Clad in an off-white strapless baby doll frock paired with silver stilettos, it’s really weird to look at Geri trying on Emma’s image of being cutie patootie.

On second thought, maybe it’s not Emma that she’s trying to copy. She’s probably so in-love with her daughter, Bluebell Madonna that she wants to look like her.

I have two words for Geri here: Grow Up!

Kate Hudson is regal in a curtain

Sunday, April 13th, 2008

kate-hudson-final.jpg

Actually I’m still torn to being awed and irritated to this look of Kate Hudson during the Fool’s Gold film premiere in London, England.

Well her John Galliano silk emerald gown paired with Bulgari jewels and Brian Atwood heels is a sure looker. But to whether it’s looker bad or looker good is still a question. To be honest, I really am having trouble ‘appreciating’ her bulging gown with enormous kite-like sleeves with ugly strings. And what’s with those peacock-like prints on her neckline?!

I really hope Kate stays away from windy places or the electric fan with this look.

Come on, Did Kate just somehow misinterpret looking regal with looking old?! Even if I get this frock for free, I still wouldn’t dare wear it. For one it looks heavy, it has no shape, and most of all, I don’t want to look like an aging butterfly!
