Almost three months ago, it has been announced that Madonna and luxury fashion maker, Gucci have teamed up to raise funds for the orphans in Malawi, one of South Africa’s impoverished nations.

As the scheduled fundraising event took place last February 6 in New York City, it is actually not a surprise that big celebs would be present to show support for this important cause. Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes (in her ravishing red gown), (my love) Orlando Bloom, Brooke Shields (who was absolutely a knock-out beauty despite her age), Drew Barrymore, Lucy Liu, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Demi Moore and her hubby Ashton Kutcher are just some of the stars who graced the event with their presence and support for the fundraising activity and witness the opening of Gucci’s largest store throughout the world.

Kudos to all these stars! And I may not be Madonna, but thank you for supporting this event.

More than being a material girl, Madonna proves that life as a celebrity isn’t just about fame, glamour, and the blings. The 51-year old American pop singer and fashion icon just recently teamed up with luxury fashion maker, Gucci to raise funds for the orphans in Malawi, an impoverished southern African nation to where she tried to adopt a child a year ago.

The partnership will focus on hosting a fundraising event that will include a dinner, a musical performance, and on February 6 next year. The event will also mark the opening of Gucci’s largest store worldwide in New York’s Fifth Avenue.

Well this may not be about the recent hits and misses in Hollywood scene, but a collaboration of a celebrity and a fashion brand for a charitable cause is more than just blog worthy.

Halle Berry hasn’t responded to reports that she’s pregnant by boyfriend and superhottie Gabriel Aubry (to be fair, the “reports” are really only one blind item on a website I’ve never heard of, and so aren’t so much reports as stories someone made up while in the shower this morning), but here’s the thing.

If you wear tops like this, those kind of rumors are going to get started.

This is worse even than Lindsay Lohan’s rotting legs! Word has just come that The O.C. has officially been cancelled. I’m distraught. I knew there were naysayers who said it wouldn’t be the same without Marisa, but they were WRONG. And yes, I missed some last year when I lived abroad and so didn’t get as into this season as I could have. . .but that’s no reason for it to END. WAAAHHH!!
