Hit Looks and Miss Looks at Conde Nast Anniversary (Part 2)

Saturday, September 6th, 2008

Well you’ve seen on my previous post the first batch of the hit and miss looks during the Conde Nast Media Group’s 5th Anniversary of Fashion Rocks which included Beyoncé Knowles, Charlize Theron, Ciara, Fergie, and Hayden Panettiere.

Now let’s continue with the other stars who graced the event. Who truly rocked the event with their looks, and who did otherwise?

First on the list is publishing heiress, Lydia Hearst who was clad in a red gown I could not understand. I hope by this time Lydia now learns how ugly her ribcage looks. We understand she wants to show off how skinny she is but I hope not this way. Just ugly!

As if stressing out her star status teen sensation Miley Cyrus opted for a silver star-motif Zuhair Murad minidress. She sure sparkles! Love the hair (although maybe someday she can consider some new ‘do) and the shoes!

Always trying out various edgy looks, singer Rihanna awed the audience with her black silk gazar Monique Lhuillier gown. I guess Rihanna knew too well too that her ‘do matched well with the funky yet classy feel of the gown. Genius, isn’t she? Guess I’m starting to like Rihanna’s extreme yet unique fashion statements, huh?!

Well here’s a look I would surely say as completely and utterly wrong! Solange Knowles seems to be really excited with Christmas that she can’t help but put on a Christmas tree. Christmas tree or a bird’s nest, whatever that is she wants to she’s wearing must be toned down. I guess Solange really want to make a statement that’s really different from her sister.

If Beyoncé’s little sister, Solange seems too excited for Christmas, I’m guessing supermodel and talk show goddess, Tyra Banks is so looking forward for Halloween. Why she looks so much of a vampire here; with the scary hair and the scary make-up. I must give it to Tyra though for projecting the look well making it vamp from vampire.

And that has been a night for Conde Nast Media Group. What interesting looks we had here, right?!

Love parties? – So do I.

Here in Celebrity Fashion Watch, Hollywood parties are opportunities to follow the latest hits and misses in the world of celebrity fashion.

And last night (September 5), the stars have once again gathered to party and celebrate with Conde Nast Media Group’s 5th Anniversary of Fashion Rocks.

Who hit the red carpet with their glam fashion statements? Who missed?

Check it out:

Newly-wed Beyoncé Knowles definitely is classy and fab in this black number. I love how the dress emphasized her sexy hips. Changing from sexy curls to long straight hair is one refreshing transformation. Love this!

Hottie Charlize Theron opted to be casually glam at the event, thanks to her silver blazer that did the magic. Do I like the look? Well not really. Do I hate it? Of course not. So maybe we can say it’s just a so-so.

Singer Ciara donned on a black and white number in bold stripes. Now, although I love her hair, I am not quite sure if I can say the same to her gown. It sure draws one’s attention, but it looks like she’s wrapped in a film reel for me.

Now let’s talk about Fergie’s look at the event. If I’d be very honest, I don’t like the look! It actually reminds me of the wardrobe my mom had in the 90’s. So dowdy is not the right word to describe this look (printed tunic with layered belts and skinny pants), but tell me what better word to use here.

Hayden, Hayden, Hayden… While I usually love to see Hayden Panettiere displaying her all-out hotness, I don’t think I’d like to see more of her in this pleather-like frock. No way! It looks like the dress is about to choke her and all.

To be continued…
