While the previous posts were a mix of the hits and misses at Monday’s (May 4) Costume Institute Gala, this batch of stars we have here are those stars who more than missed in their fashion statements that night. They are the stars who flopped it and cried for fashion police.

I must warn you though, you may not like what you are about to see.

Rihanna

Okay, I know fashion can always be an excuse for cross-dressing without having to be accused as cross-dressing, but Rihanna’s Dolce & Gabbana Fall 2009 is just so out of context, this is still the Costume Institute Gala she attended, right?!

I understand Rihanna always has this quite different taste for fashion, but I just didn’t expect her to be this different. Come on, surely, she ain’t playing ring bearer in some wedding.

Madonna

There are actually a lot of things that crossed my mind with Madonna’s look at the event. There are so many that in fact I do not know what to say first.

Clad in a Louis Vuitton Fall 2009 frock paired with disgusting boots, I just want to scream UGLY!!!! I’ve made a lot of fashion disaster posts here in Celebrity Fashion Watch, but nothing yet gave me this kind of intensity and disgust.

Was the singer lost in the city or has she simply lost her mind?

Leighton Meester

I guess the concept of this post should be the word ‘lost’ stars here seem to really have either been lost with their fashion statements or lost their minds. With Leighton Meester’s multi colored Louis Vuitton ensemble, I’m torn between laughing and appalled. Why she could perfectly pass as a chameleon in the red carpet (relatively and figuratively).

Geez, woman!

Victoria Beckham

Being a self-proclaimed fashion icon, one couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow with Victoria Beckham’s Louis Vuitton frock last Monday. No words can really describe this look, except that it’s plain ugly; not dowdy, definitely not frumpy, but just ugly.

Come to think of it, three of the celebs in this list wore a Louis Vuitton design… Are you thinking what I am thinking? Hmhmm…

Well we all know that Victoria Beckham takes fashion seriously. And when I say seriously I mean really serious. And I guess that shows with how she looks wherever she is.

Take a look at Posh Spice here as she pushes for gray power from head to toe. Now who wouldn’t say that’s serious? The question now is, is it a hit or a miss?

Hit

Hmmm… honestly I don’t find any reason for this to be on a hit list so shall we just proceed to the miss reason?

Miss

First, this is just a definition of what overdressed is. Second, remember what fashion gurus always say about putting only one focus in a look; all else are just accessories or add-ons? This one here is just all focus. And all focus is no focus at all.

I guess Victoria should try loosening up sometimes.

While Victoria Beckham is arguably one of the most fashionable and stylish moms in Hollywood, one thing is actually certain, this mom just loves to dress up and experiment!

Picking up her youngest son, Cruz, the former Spice Girl was definitely eye-catching in her sexy green mini dress, Christian Louboutin boots, and huge eyeglasses.

But while I would love to have Posh Spice’s frock and boots, her new hair isn’t really something I would really get excited about. Well it sure is funky and edgy, but I guess it’s just too ‘risky’ (?!).

Meanwhile, if you’ve noticed Victoria’s new toned physique, then that is because she’s been doing some exercises for her upcoming underwear ad for Emporio Armani. In an interview with Women’s Wear Daily, she shares, “I started running regularly about a year ago and when this campaign came about, I began working harder every day.”

Victoria Beckham has bid goodbye to her signatured bob-cut hair and has replaced it with an ultra-short one.

And presenting her denim line, “dVb Denim” at the Ekseption boutique yesterday (October 16) in Madrid, Spain, Posh Spice shows off her new look that came with an edgy and super chic outfit.

With this look, Posh has just proven she is indeed over the edge when it comes to dressing up. Let’s all admit it, not everybody can pull off this kind of hairstyle. And Victoria has just owned it.

I wouldn’t actually wonder if this cut becomes a trend just like her previous hairstyle.

On the other hand, her equestrienne-like outfit added more to this look’s glamour and class. But of course we all know that when it’s Victoria Beckham, these two words already come in a package. – Glamour and Class.

Well it isn’t everyday that we get a chance to see two of Hollywood’s most stylish moms and fashionistas strike a pose together, right?! And so I sure wouldn’t let go of this chance to feature here in Celebrity Fashion Watch Jennifer Lopez and Victoria Beckham showing off their version of the yin-yang fashion.

Yup, gracing the Marc Jacobs Spring 2009 fashion show during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week last Monday (September 8), new mom JLo and Posh Spice were a vision of balance between good and evil with their looks; the first on a chic RM Roland Mouret frock and the latter on an edgy black frock.

Balance the two’s looks may be, but I guess, looking at the photo above, JLo’s look is actually way way better than Victoria’s. It’s more sophisticated and glam for me.

Fashion would always seem to be a very subjective matter; what’s a hit for me may be a miss for some and vice versa.

Take for example Victoria Beckham. While I certainly love this former Spice Girls’ sense of style, some people just don’t think the same. In fact, Posh Spice, as she’s also popularly known, has made it to several worst dressers list. But here in Celebrity Fashion Watch, I guess she’ll always be on my top 10.

However, promoting her new fragrance, Beckham Signature, at London department store Harvey Nichols, I am quite torn as to liking or hating her look.

Clad in a body hugging, fur-trimmed white dress and metallic silver heels, the look is basically so Victoria, posh and classy. That is, if it has not been for that fur on her back.

What is Vic trying to present, an angel or what?!

I just don’t understand this look.

Oh well, will somebody ever doubt that?! It’s as if Victoria Beckham has been synonymous to the word fashion. And everyday is like a day for Posh Spice to prove this.

Spending a day shopping with her family in L.A., the former Spice Girl proves that no heat from the sun can stop her from being classy and chic. With her mod-print mini dress, gladiator heels, and a bag from Miu Miu, who wouldn’t pay attention to Vic’s fashion presence?

Making a grand and royalty-like entrance, the pair arrives at the 2008 ESPY Awards held at NOKIA Theatre in California with such fashion authority.

I actually saw this feature at People.com and was really amused of the photo showing Mariah Carey and Victoria Beckham both on their own interpretation of the baseball fashion. I was so amused that I want it too on this blog. After all, I have Versus here as a category.

Today, Celebrity Fashion Watch goes to the fashion “battleground�? again as two of Hollywood’s iconic singers, Posh and Mimi show us their fashionable ways of throwing out a pitch in the field.

On Posh. Clad in short-shorts and Dries Van Noten wedge sneakers, Victoria Beckham’s ‘ptiching’ stint at Dodgers Stadium last summer has been one memorable event. Of course, she did not just show the people she could pitch but she was also able to prove that she can be sporty and fashionable all at the same time.

On Mimi. Sporting on her platform heels, denim cut-offs and a tummy-baring satin jacket, the newlywed was beaming as she stepped up the field this week. Mariah yet again just wowed the public not with her brilliant voice but with her curvaceous body. I wonder though if she could pitch well wearing those heels on her feet and her heavy wedding rings on her finger.

Although Posh-Becks and Tom-Kat are known to be really good friends, I know deep inside them is in for a competition (especially the wives).

And so to indulge them with their ‘secret’ contest, who do you think among these two pairs dressed best during Victoria Beckham’s 34th birthday celebration in Beverly Hills?

Victoria, accompanied by David who was so macho with his beard, was looking so classy and posh (of course) wearing a sexy black and white pencil cut dress. And although I don’t usually like looking at stars with fake boobs, I think Victoria’s are just okay.

On the other hand, Katie and Tom graced the event with matching sunglasses. I, however, have a problem with these two’s outfit. Katie’s golden yellow frock looked so antique (not classic, not retro). While Tom’s suit looked so big in him that he appeared to be a midget standing by his wife.

And so for the best dressed pair, I guess I’d have to go with the Becks here. And that’s not because it’s Vic’s birthday.

Since we’re talking about the best dressed couple, I thought Posh Spice and husband David just brought out the best in each other holding hands and looking so regal as if they’re royalties.

Sorry Tom-Kat, why don’t you try getting a new stylist?!

Victoria Beckham a.k.a. Posh Spice would probably one of those stars who I’d rather see clad in fancy signatured clothes rather than in casual outfit. Of course everybody know this is where she’s exactly good at pulling off; -expensive and glamorous clothes.

Anyway, just for a comparison, I put on one of her previous photos where she was clad in a casual tattered jeans and t-shirt and one recent photo of her wearing a white Giambattista Valli frock. Of course she is fabulous in a certain degree to both looks but I believe the latter brought the best in her and the posh in her. She ain’t called posh for nothing, right?!

Having such a slender body, I guess the jeans just made her look so skinny and famished. While the pencil cut frock is just oh-so hot!

Like father like son…

Well if the youngest Beckham, Cruz got the public’s attention during the Spice Girls’ final show, his older brother Romeo, sure got the media’s eyes sporting a New England Patriots jersey while shopping with her mom Victoria and Mrs. Eva Longoria-Parker on Rodeo Drive in Los Angeles.

Wooo… it seems like Romeo got his sports root from his dad huh?! But a Tom Brady fan?! Why, my dear, don’t you have any LA Galaxy jersey of your daddy David? You ought to tell your mother to get you one while she’s in shopping mode with her Desperate Housewives star friend. I bet dad wouldn’t be so glad of your support to the “other�? football.

Anyway, I guess I also have to get myself into sports now to keep up with the entertainment industry. These two industries sure are inseparable. If you want to be updated to one, then you should be updated to the other. Say for example Victoria and David Beckham here, or Eva Longoria and Tony Parker.

Well that’s why I’m starting my ‘journey’ to the sports industry through baseball.

Football’s good but I think I’m more interested on baseball, especially on the Houston Astros. I’ve actually been long dreaming on watching their games getting the best seats with my Houston Astros Tickets. Oh I’d sure love watching any of their games with my son, most specially now that they’re making a yet another run at the National League’s Central title.

So let Romeo be a Patriot while I start to be an Astro… What do you think?!

Lately I noticed that most sources or blogs I check into feature various stars on the cover of various magazines’ April 2008 issue. Well I thought of putting them all here (or at least most of them) in one ‘big’ post. But since we’re talking about more than two stars on mag covers, versus would not be the appropriate word to use; it’s war of the magazine covers here in Celebrity Fashion Watch.

Let’s get ready to rumble!

Doing Elle’s April 2008 issue is Natalie Portman going casual with a hint of attitude clad in a pair of jeans and shirt. For a fashion mag, being spunky is quite odd. Looks like Nat’s really prepared for the ‘war,’ huh?!

If Nat’s like ready for a fight, Hillary Duff is the opposite. Looking charming and sweet in red, the 20-year-old teen sensation graced the cover of Lucky Magazine. I guess being glamorously wholesome would be Hil’s special weapon here.

Here’s the cover that would seem to outdate all these covers, Material Girl, Madonna in the latest issue of Dazed and Confused Magazine. Talking about preparing for battle, Madonna literally brings people dazed and confused of her real age. Femme fatale!

Now that we’ve mentioned about femme fatale and age, I don’t think Demi Moore would also be outlasted. Being the cover girl for April of Harper’s Bazaar, the 45-year-old wife of Ashton Kutcher proves still of her sex appeal. Shall we thank botox and liposuctions for that, Demi?! ***wicked smile***

If the two previous ‘oldies’ prove they’re still hotties, I think Janet Jackson’s Ebony cover is the otherwise. For glam battle, I think she’d lose badly to Demi. This is just not hot for me.

Talking about glam this time, I guess Victoria Beckham’s cover on British Vogue is just oh so glamorous. Totally Victoria!

Don’t you think Victoria Beckham should really start eating food now? And I mean REAL food!

Taking a brunch at Jack n’ Jills in Beverly Hills early this week with her sons, Posh Spice seems to look so famished clad in a casual t-shirt and jeans with minimal make-up. Should we blame the clothes here? ‘Coz really, I’ve seen photos of her for a hundred times wearing nothing but elegant and glamorous clothes but I haven’t seen her looking this skinny. Let me say that again, SKINNY.

Well if that’s the case I guess Miss Posh should just stick to her glamorous and signatured frocks to look, well… posh.

Oh! I forgot, these stars love to be called skinny. Skinny! Skinny! Skinny!

Rich people; they can afford everything they desire yet they can’t afford to eat everything they want. Life is fair after all. ***Smile***
