Couples in Fashion: Nicole and Joel VS Heidi and Spencer

It’s Versus time again everyone!

Today, we’re going romantic and young as we feature two faces of love and fashion in Hollywood. It’s Nicole Richie and Joel Madden versus Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt here in Celebrity Fashion Watch.

Attending the A Time for Heroes Celebrity Carnival in California yesterday, the two lovebirds surely looked in-love and happy with each other.

Well we know both Nicole and Heidi are certified fashionistas. But will their image still be the same if they walk hand-in-hand with their partners? Which pair do you think brought the best in each other when it comes to fashion?

A socialite and a rocker.

It has always been interesting seeing this couple together. Their fashion statements seem to be really worlds apart.

While Nicole is an epitome of an all-glammed up trendsetter (wearing a comfy yellow tube minidress matched with her trademark huge sunglasses), her partner Joel has been himself an epitome of a rockstar (read: black ensemble and tattoos).

But by just being together their differences seem not to matter anymore. In fact, I think they compliment each other’s looks quite well. Nicole adds some softness in Joel’s relatively scary gangster look while Joel gives some punk feeling in that uber-girlie look of Nicole’s.

I guess both coming from the world of reality TV makes this pair have an aura of “always being filmed�. I don’t know how to describe it but Heidi and Spencer seems to be always craving for media attention; like they’re still filming their show.

Matching in blue, the two seem to have really prepared for the event (like it’s their prom!). However, despite the matched “costumes�, I’m afraid to say that fashion wise, it’s totally a miss!

I think Spencer’s pair of shoes is just as hideous as his belt while Heidi’s ugly bag didn’t compliment her super fab gladiator flats.

Well I guess as a pair, you really don’t have to literally match in order to figuratively match.

I hope that makes sense…
