Dancing Queen
A few of you know that former Miss Universe, Puerto Rican goddess (and Marc Anthony’s ex-wife), Dayanara Torres was hailed dancing queen of the Philippines.
Thirteen years ago, the 43rd Miss Universe beauty pageant was held in the country. That time, Torres was the current holder of the crown. When the pageant was over, with Indian Sushmita Sen taking over the title, Yari, as she was commonly known here seem to have fallen in love with the country that she stayed for almost five years. With that span of time, the beauty queen established a career in the country through the entertainment industry.
Using her dancing prowess and charm, Dayanara captured the hearts of the Filipinos, she was hailed Dancing Queen. Hosting two dance shows, a party TV, and with several endorsements and movies, the goddess was one big celebrity and fashion icon in the country.
After a hit career, Yari decided to go back to Puerto Rico. And the next thing we knew, she’s already married to Marc Anthony then got divorced in 2004 (I hope not because of JLo).
Yes, I’ve been one huge fan of Dayanara. I could not contain my excitement upon seeing these photos of her at the 8th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards; I just have to do an entry about her!
Still looking good and even better after all these years and after two kids, wow… just WOW! I love the frock, I love the hair, and the back…I just love her! Well I guess some things never change.
