Fashion meets Politics
Women. Fashion. Power. Politics.
They say that behind every man’s success is a woman.
And so for today’s article, and as ‘suggested’ by TrendyShoeShop.com, we feature the women who are behind the success (and failures) of the two men vying to be the head of the most powerful nation in the world, and would potentially make it in the White House.
Let’s check out the looks and fashion of these women as one of them will finally be called as US’ First Lady.
On Cindy McCain:
Well anybody who can pull off a whopping $313,100 worth of ensemble (more than Laura Bush’s) is definitely worth the attention.
Yep! $313,100!
Vanity Fair’s Fashion Department itemizes the wardrobe Cindy McCain wore at the RNC, and here it goes:
Oscar de la Renta dress: $3,000
Chanel J12 White Ceramic Watch: $4,500
Three-carat diamond earrings: $280,000
Four-strand pearl necklace: $11,000–$25,000
Shoes, designer unknown: $600
Total: Between $299,100 and $313,100
Now isn’t that really jawdropping?! That could surely feed thousands of hungry people in the world.
On Michelle Obama:
Many observers have observed that Barrack’s first lady’s fashion sense has been more or less like of style icon Jackie Onassis’, - classy and elegant.
Standing at 5’11”, Michelle still loves to wear stilettos and sling back kitten heels and alternates wearing them with her ballet flats.
On her recent October 27 appearance on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Michelle admitted to purchasing lots of her outfits online because its so convenient and shopping at J. Crew. In a July interview by Maria Menounos recorded for Access Hollywood with the Obama family, Michelle Obama discussed shopping on a budget and finding fashion bargains. She said that she usually shops at The Gap for herself and her daughters.
I guess that is no wonder why she made on the Vanity Fair’s International Best-Dressed list.
You’ve seen how they dress to impress the public. Now, that sure speaks so much of their personalities.

Michelle Obama compared to Jackie O?! You have got to be kidding me. Jakcie was and will always be in her OWN class. For comparison reasons Michelle Obama falls short.
