After Brad Pitt and George Clooney, It’s Matt Damon’s turn to wear the crown as People’s Sexiest Man for 2007. Thus, it’s no question he takes the spot for Celebrity Fashion Watch’s Beautiful Man of the Week.

Let’s get to know our man with this simple biography…

American actor and screenwriter Matthew Paige Damon was born October 8, 1970 in Cambridge, Massachusetts to stockbroker, realtor, and tax preparer, Kent Telfer Damon and early childhood education professor, Nancy Carlsson-Paige.

Damon’s kick-off in the industry was in 1988 with his single-line dialogue in the romatic comedy movie, Mystic Pizza. Along with close friend Ben Affleck (to whom he grew up with), Matt made his mark in Hollywood for screenwriting Good Will Hunting which gave him an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay. He was also nominated for Best Actor on the same film that gave him his first $500,000 salary.

After the movie’s success, Damon started landing on relevant roles in various films such as Saving Private Ryan, The Talented Mr. Ripley, Ocean’s Eleven, and his most prominent character as Jason Bourne in the Bourne trilogy.

Throughout his fruitful career, Matt has had several relationships with various actresses including a 3-year relationship with actress Winona Rider.

In 2005, Damon married Argentine-born Luciana Bozan Barroso in a private civil ceremony in New York. The couple’s first child, Isabella, was born a year after in Florida.

More than the looks and the fame, Matt together with George Clooney and Brad Pitt is also an advocate supporting ONE, a campaign against AID and poverty.

Having been named as People’s Sexiest Man Alive in 2007 at 37, Damon only has this to say: “You’ve given an aging suburban dad the ego-boost of a lifetime.” And yes, that is sexy!
