Julianne Moore Vogue Cover: Hot or Not?
You read it right. That is Julianne Moore on the cover of Vogue Paris’s May 2008 issue.
And so to remind you, the Emmy and Golden Globe-winning actress is already 47 years old! (My mom’s age!)
Tell me, what is happening with this world and these Hollywood veterans?! From Madonna’s Hard Candy album cover to Alanis Morissette’s Flavor of Entanglement promo photos, now, Julianne Moore?! What did Madonna do to actually encourage personalities of her age insist they’re still freakin’ hot despite their age?!
So, okay, Julianne is still hot. In fact, had I not read the caption telling it was her on the cover then I wouldn’t have recognized her at all. Of course the cover showed the femme fatale in her yet I still can’t help but think about her age and her children.
I guess the question here shouldn’t be whether it’s hot or not. Rather, I guess one should think if it is appropriate for her or not.

I personally find it to be in poor taste as a cover. If that picture were on the inside of the magazine I wouldn’t find it so objectionable, but as a cover it will be seen by anyone who walks by the newsstand, and even though she is a beautiful woman, it is inappropriate to have a pose like that so prominently displayed. I don’t think that age is the issue here. I just think that as a fashion publication, Vogue Paris ought to feature some clothing!

No offense, Erin, but people understand and expect Vogue to push the envelope on art and high fashion photography. These images are beautiful photos of a beautiful woman. Let Julianne be the judge of what is appropriate for her. I consider her to a grown woman and capable of making these decisions for herself.
