Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes: Couple in Fashion
Being in hiatus for a while probably gave me the time to explore my creativity (if I ever had one). You know, out of nowhere, the idea of coming out with a new category here in Celebrity Fashion Watch just popped out.
Well I am a hopeless romantic and a fashionista at heart, and so I thought of coming out a category that will feature some of Hollywood’s biggest couples as compliment (or break) each other in the fashion department.
As a kick off for this category, I thought of bringing in a couple that has been a favorite of reporters and fashion blogs altogether. And no, it’s not Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, not even David and Victoria Beckham, but they’re actually related to the latter.
I am talking about Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes…
Yup, after they got married in Italy in November 2006, this power couple has since then been seen together in parties, red carpets, and even the public standing out with their high edge fashion styles.
Often compared with their close pal couple Beck and Posh, Tom and Katie have somewhat shown that they can bring out the best (and sometimes worst) in each other (at least in the fashion department).
Here are some events (arranged from the most recent) showing the couple in both in best and worst fashion moments.
And most recent it is. Yesterday, the parents of cutie Suri attended the Los Angeles premiere of “Tropic Thunder.”
“While Katie went glam in a stunning leather tiered bustier dress, Tom kept things casual in a pair of fitted jeans, a sharply cut blazer and every young man’s go-to footwear…white sneakers.”
Do I like the two’s look here? Well let’s just say that for me, this probably one of those not so good moments of the couple.
To start, Katie’s leather bustier dress is something I am not sure if I like or hate; it’s not ugly of course, but is it stunningly beautiful? I don’t think so!
Now for her hubby, Tom, I just think the look is just way too casual you’d think he’s just about to go shopping or visit some friend.
And well, need I mention the word coherence?

I know it’s unfashionable to admit, but I really like these two! I love their sense of style they’re sooooooooo chic! Are they a pair of Tom Ford sunglasses tom’s wearing?
